FLATBACK TURTLE TAGGING VOLUNTEER PROGRAM APPLICATIONS OPEN NOW!

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
for this unique opportunity between November 2026 and January 2027 

Flatback turtle populations are considered significant in these locations due to the size of their rookeries, with approximately 2000 turtles nesting on Barrow Island and at Mundaballangana per year. 

Join our turtle tagging adventure as we collect scientific data about nesting flatback turtle populations in their remote natural habitats.

Opportunity: Volunteering

Location: Barrow Island and Mundabullangana Station, Western Australia

Duration: 15 – 19 days

Dates: November 2026 - January 2027

What is covered: Return flights from Perth, accommodation, meals, and $200 towards hiking boots

Following on from a successful last season, we are excited to bring one of the largest marine turtle monitoring programs in the world into its 22nd year of monitoring.
