TYE POPE
MANAGING DIRECTOR
Tye is a founding partner of ECS and has over 16 years’ experience in environmental management and consulting within Australia and internationally.
He has been heavily involved in whole of project lifecycle elements across multiple significant projects including scoping, baseline studies, environmental impact assessments, permitting/approvals, construction, contractor management, commissioning, operations and decommissioning regulated under local, state and federal legislative frameworks.
Tye also has significant experience and a keen interest in the field of oil spill contingency planning, preparedness, testing and response.
Tye is a qualified Marine Scientist with a keen interest in conservation of the marine environment and a specialist in coastal, nearshore and offshore projects. As a father of three children, he would like to see his kids and grandkids enjoy the ocean he has loved since he was young whilst striking a pragmatic balance between conservation and ecologically sustainable development.
Mike was awarded a first-class honours degree in Environmental Science, focusing on Marine Science, and a Masters in Coastal Engineering and Management, both from UNSW.

His experience covers a broad range of areas across multiple industries, including offshore oil and gas, mining and infrastructure. Mike has extensive experience in oil spill planning and preparedness and the associated regulatory approvals regime, and has a strong technical background in project management, environmental approvals processes, environmental engineering, environmental monitoring, EMS implementation and environmental assurance. He has a thorough understanding of risks and impacts applicable to coastal and offshore project lifecycles and has a proven experience in the development, maintenance and implementation of approvals required under relevant legislation.
Mike is passionate about protecting the environment through responsible design, development and operation of industry assets and projects. Mike has been lucky enough to spend his life enjoying the amazing marine and coastal environments that Australia has to offer, and his goal is to energise, educate and create a positive culture towards everyone’s environmental responsibility so that others, including his family, can continue to enjoy and experience these diverse and incredible locations.
MIKE DALY
MANAGING DIRECTOR
Mike is a founder and Director of ECS and has almost 15 years’ experience as an environmental advisor and engineer. He has worked in numerous locations across Australia and is currently based in Perth.
NAOMI HILL
SENIOR ENVIRONMENTAL ADVISOR
Naomi has over 20 years’ experience as an environmental and regulatory specialist, working in consulting, government, mining and oil and gas.
Naomi's experiences range from developing and securing State and Commonwealth Ministerial approvals, coordinating Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), and managing and implementing stakeholder engagement processes across the mining and resource industry.
She has a thorough understanding of risks and impacts applicable to offshore oil and gas project lifecycles and has a proven experience in the development, maintenance and implementation of approvals required under the relevant legislation.
Naomi was awarded a Master of Engineering from Griffith University in 2015 and Bachelor of Science (double major in Environmental Science and Conservation Biology) from Murdoch University in 2001. With her extensive experience and diverse knowledge, Naomi is a proven performer and can adapt to any project situation.
Carolyn has significant experience and expertise in compliance assurance, mine and LNG site management, marine environmental management (including dredging), EMS implementation, permitting and approvals, environmental reporting, management plan development and implementation, waste management, environmental engineering design and reviews, risk assessment and reduction, contractor management, hazardous materials assessments, and water quality assessments.
With such a diverse array of experience and impeccable work ethic, Carolyn is able to communicate at all levels within an organisation and is able to produce an extremely high standard of deliverables making her an important and integral asset to ECS.
CAROLYN MUIR
SENIOR ENVIRONMENTAL ADVISOR
Carolyn has over 12 years’ of experience consulting in the environmental fields of the mining and the oil & gas sectors, including over 9 years working for the construction and operational phases of the Gorgon and Wheatstone LNG mega projects.
ANDY GOWING
SENIOR ENVIRONMENTAL ADVISOR
Andy is an environmental professional with over ten years’ experience working in the resources sector within the Western Australia (WA), Australian Commonwealth and the international marine environment.
This includes working across all phases of asset life cycle on projects within terrestrial, nearshore and offshore environments.
As such, Andy has an advanced skill set in the development and implementation of environmental approvals and management systems for both green and brown field developments.
His extensive experience spanning the design, construction, operation and decommissioning phases of asset lifecycles means Andy has advanced expertise in state, commonwealth and international environmental approval regimes, environmental regulation and best practice environmental management making him the Swiss army knife of our team.
